Picasso, Magritte, Tàpies, Juan Gris and Chillida will land at the Almudí Palace, through Fundación Telefónica (16/05/2017)

José Ballesta meets with the Director of Collections and Exhibitions of the Foundation to discuss the details of the next exhibition that the company will bring to the city, with the collaboration of the City Council.

Murcia will be in September the second city of Spain that will host the exhibition 'Destacados', which traces a panoramic view of the artistic milestones of the 20th century.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, met this morning with the Director of Collections and Exhibitions of the Fundación Telefónica, Laura Fernández-Orgaz, a meeting in which they discussed the details of the next exhibition that the company will bring to the city, with The collaboration of the City of Murcia, which will include works by great masters such as Picasso, Juan Gris, Magritte, Tàpies, Chillida or Delvaux.

Telefónica 'collection after Valladolid, an exhibition that shows a panoramic view of the most important landmarks of 20th century art history, both inside and outside our borders, with a total of 150 paintings and sculptural works.

José Ballesta said that "this masterly exhibition will visit Murcia after the summer, an artistic selection that can be seen in one of the most noble spaces of the city, such as the building of the Almudí Palace."

In this sense, Fernández-Orgaz said that "the exhibition has just been inaugurated in the Patio Herreriano Museum in Valladolid and the second place in Spain that will visit will be Murcia, at the end of September."

The mayor expressed his satisfaction and gratitude for "the attention of the Telefónica Foundation with the city of Murcia, since the core of artistic funds gathered by the company since the 80's will be exposed here."

José Ballesta also said that "this is the beginning of future collaborations in which we are already thinking, since the Fundación Telefónica is very active in the field of science or history, and we want to bring thematic exhibitions to other areas of the municipality" .
