The Rector of the University of Murcia (UMU) today hosted the presentation of the project of construction and installation of a mural of Periodic Table in the Faculty of Chemistry, in the campus of Espinardo.

The work - in which each of the 118 chemical elements will be represented by its symbol, number and atomic weight - will have dimensions of 140 square meters, "becoming the largest periodic Table in mural of the world", in the words of the dean Of the Faculty, Pedro Lozano, center promoter of the idea.

The dean said that the new facade of the Faculty, which will be financed by a consortium of twelve companies from Murcia, will mean a "significant change in the image of the Espinardo campus", as well as the creation of a "new iconic landmark building for the UMU and for the city of Murcia ".

The CROEM president, José María Albarracín, on behalf of these companies, has stated that the response to the request of the Faculty of Chemistry was very good and that this center of the UMU, he recalled, "has been historically linked to the fabric Business of the Region ".
