The Park and Gardens Service, which is part of the Department of Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, directed by José Guillén, is spraying more than 20,000 copies of Murcia and districts against the aphids.
This work is carried out, always at night to avoid discomfort, a team of four professionals, jacarandas, tipuanas, robinias, rosales or orange trees, among others.
The fumigation is part of a programmed schedule and will continue until early summer while the chosen time, from midnight, is designed to reduce any possible inconvenience to neighbors and ensure a better application of the product.
The information on the areas to be fumigated and the products used is published monthly on the website of the City Council so that the population knows when and where to spray.
"This is another way of the City Council to continue to care for the examples and green areas that the municipality has, as was done at the time with weevil or other insects harmful to the trees of the municipality," explains Councilman Guillen.
