On Friday, May 12, at 8:30 pm, in the Parish Church of San Miguel de Murcia, a concert of the Chamber Choir and the University of Murcia Orchestra will be held to raise funds for the construction of the organ.
To that end, singing students from the upper conservatories of Barcelona, ​​Madrid and Valencia will join their voices to the Chamber Choir and the University of Murcia Orchestra to perform the cantata BWV 147 "Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben".
Also will be interpreted Concert TWV54: D3 for three trumpets, timbales and orchestra of GP Telemann, in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of his death.
The soloists will be Inés Alonso (soprano), Albert Baena (countertenor) Matías B. Álvarez (tenor) and Héctor dos Santos (baritone) and the direction will be by Jorge Losana, director of the Choral and University Orchestra of Murcia.
The collection of this concert, for which a donation of 6 euros is requested, will go to the construction of the new organ for the Church of San Miguel.
The concert is part of the annual program around the "Old Music" of the Orchestra and the Chamber Choir of the UMU, which includes courses with international teachers, orchestral projects, celebration of musical events, chamber recitals and recovery programs Of the patrimony of the city.
JS Bach is considered the most important composer of baroque music.
For his part, GP Telemann was named by the book "Guinness" as the most prolific composer in the history of music with more than 800 works to his credit.
This concert is organized by the University of Murcia and the Parish of San Miguel, and they collaborate, Mare Nostrum Campus, Early Music Project, the Institute of Cultural Industries and Arts of the Region of Murcia, with the sponsorship of the Cajamurcia Foundation.
