Seven golds for Mireia Belmonte (UCAM) in the Spanish University Championship (11/05/2017)

Melani Costa (6 golds) and Jessica Vall (five golds and one silver) also shone in the Inacua pool in Murcia

Mireia Belmonte, Olympic champion in Rio 16, came to the Spanish University Championship held in Murcia with the goal of adding the maximum points to the UCAM and fulfilled it.

With seven gold medals (4 individual and 3 relays) she was the most outstanding swimmer in the competition.

His individual golds came in the four tests he had scheduled: 200 butterfly, 200 and 400 styles and 800 free.

Also noteworthy is the performance of Melani Costa with six golds, four individual (50, 100, 200 and 400 free) and two in reliefs.

Jessica Vall achieved the gold in the three tests of her specialty (50, 100 and 200 breaststroke), two more gold in relay and one silver in 100 butterfly.

The rest of the UCAM team had a very outstanding performance: Miguel Durán (three golds and one bronze), Yeray Lebon (two golds), Marcos Rodríguez (one gold), Duane da Rocha (one gold, one silver and one bronze) , Juan Durán (one gold and one bronze), Alan Cabello (two golds and two bronzes), José María Gómez (one gold and one bronze), Antonio Arroyo (one silver and one bronze) and Pol Gil (one silver).

To these trophies must be added the silver by teams so that the UCAM finalizes the competition of swimming with 30 more metals for its locker: 18 of gold, 5 of silver and 7 of bronze.

The first team position in swimming was for the University of Valencia and the third position was for the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
