The historic Círculo de Bellas Artes de Murcia in the street Trapería (1902-1938) by Pilar Valero (07/05/2017)

The historic Círculo de Bellas Artes de Murcia on Calle Trapería (1902-1938) aims to rescue from oblivion the history of one of the most emblematic institutions in the history of Murcia, the Círculo de Bellas Artes, on which weighs an incomprehensible silence .

Born in the spring of 1902 thanks to the efforts of a group of intellectuals and musicians, during its more than thirty years of travel until its definitive demise in the Civil War, it was a cultural focus of the first order for the capital of Murcia, Artists as emblematic as the sculptor José Planes or the painter Joaquin Garcia.

In this essay, Pilar Valero proposes to follow in detail the activity developed during those years by the Circle in multiple disciplines, music, plastic arts, ballet, etc., and to know a little more deeply the multiple characters, artists, intellectuals and politicians, Who gathered there to improve the culture of the city and to forge one of the most interesting stages of our history.

With the publication of the historic Círculo de Bellas Artes de Murcia on Trapería Street (1902-1938), La Fea Burguesía, a Murcia publishing house born to reveal the cultural bustle that is lived in our Region and give voice to new and also To consolidated authors, makes a leap by placing on the hands of readers this valuable study with which initiates a collection of genre essay, which joins the narrative and poetic that had been editing until now.

During the presentation of the book Pilar and Pedro Valero will perform contemporary piano works with the disappeared Círculo de Bellas Artes de Murcia by Isaac Albéniz, Manuel de Falla, Santos Carrión and Chopin.

The mini concert will conclude with "Dance of the brief life" of Manuel de Falla, interpreted by the two pianists to four hands.

Pilar Valero (Molina de Segura, Murcia) began his musical studies in the Superior Conservatory of Music of Murcia, with Miguel Luis Losada, finalizing them with Extraordinary Prize;

To continue his training in Belgium.

Since then he has developed an intense concert activity, playing in Italy, Belgium, France, Tunisia, Luxembourg, Germany, Russia, and Lubjiana, where he made a recording for Slovenian television, with great critical success.

She currently teaches at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Murcia, and is a PhD in Human Sciences from the University of La Rioja.
