In addition, the popular councilman, Rafael Gomez, has confirmed today that the stretch of Arab wall of Calle Sagasta has a regular maintenance service that allows to preserve this unique space.
All thanks to the protocol set in motion at the initiative of the municipal area of ​​Heritage intended to act on a regular basis to ensure the "maintenance of the wall in Sagasta and Verónicas streets, thanks to the work of removing garbage, waste and vegetation, as well as The cleaning of paintings and graffiti ".
Likewise, he stressed that the council is still working on the approval of the restoration project of this section of wall that will allow, thanks to archaeological studies, to put value in a space more within the south canvas of the old protection of the city .
A plan that is in recruitment period after obtaining the approval of the technical prescriptions and that in the shortest possible time it will be able to carry out its first actions.
Gómez recalled that work for the "recovery and conservation of each of the sections of this 12th-century Arab wall with which the municipality of Murcia has been constant since the arrival of José Ballesta to the Mayor."
