Ruiz celebrates the opening of the new School of Hospitality in Cáritas because 'employment is the best social work' (28/02/2017)

The Councilor for Social Rights has highlighted 'the commendable task it does to provide a future of hope to those who need the most help'.

The City of Murcia maintains an annual collaboration agreement with Cáritas for 225,000 euros.

Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, today highlighted "the commendable task that Caritas does to provide a future of hope to those who need the most help."

The mayor made these statements on the occasion of the inauguration of the new School of Hospitality of Caritas, attended by the President of the Regional Government, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the bishop of the Diocese of Cartagena, José Manuel Lorca Planes.

Ruiz stressed that the new center, located in the convent of the Agustinas of Murcia, will train in catering each year about 250 people vulnerable or at risk of exclusion, making it clear that 'employment is the best social work'.

"Caritas is the image of solidarity and social commitment in the municipality," said Conchita Ruiz, and her work is "essential to build a better society" because they dedicate an enormous effort to promote the well-being of those who need the most attention to endure Situations of real risk of social exclusion ".

In this sense, Ruiz recalled the commitment of the City of Murcia with the maintenance or even increase of social programs.

Thus, the collaboration agreement with Caritas, worth 225,000 euros per year, highlighted that last year allowed 43 people in the shelter for migrants at risk of exclusion and to maintain the Cayam childcare center.
