The construction of the new roundabout that will improve the crossing of Cuatro Caminos, located in the Murcian hamlet of Beniaján, will begin in March.
José Antonio Fernández Lladó, general director of highways, informed the president of the municipal council of the town, Francisco Hernández, of the works that have been awarded recently and will have a term of execution of four months.
The roundabout will be located at the intersection of the RM-300 (Murcia-Los Ramos), RM-F9 (La Machacanta-Tocinos Bridge) roads and the lane leading to Rincon Huertano and Beniaján.
José Antonio Fernández Lladó said that "this crossing crosses daily many neighbors of the districts of Zeneta, Alquerías, Los Ramos and TorreagĂźera, as this road supports a high traffic, with 13,000 vehicles a day, of which 1,100 are heavy vehicles ".
The director of Roads explained that the new infrastructure "will considerably improve the mobility, circulation and road safety in this area, by replacing the current intersection, regulated by traffic lights, by a roundabout that will facilitate all the turns."
Likewise, said that "will facilitate access to the village of Beniaján, as well as connections with Murcia and the road to Puente Tocinos."
The new roundabout will have an exterior radius of 41 meters and two lanes of four meters wide and external and internal shoulders of one meter, and will be completed with the signaling, marking and replacement of existing services, as well as the lighting of the projected roundabout .
The works will involve an investment of about 172,000 euros.
In addition, José Antonio Fernández studied with the pedestrian of Beniaján performances on the T-330 crossing, which connects the crossing of Cuatro Caminos with the urban core of Beniaján, such as the placement of a pedestrian crossing and maintenance and maintenance works on the road .
