The Parks and Gardens Service, which is part of the Department of Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, directed by José Guillén, continues to implement the Shadow Plan in children's games in order to protect the little ones from the effects of the sun.
To this end, a number of children's playgrounds have been covered with microperforated fabric in Murcia and in the districts.
Two of the last places where this task has been carried out has been in Valladolises, where an area of 80 square meters has been protected, and in the urbanization Joven Futura with an area of more than 100 meters.
This fabric provides shade and protects from excessive exposure to the sun but transpires and lets light, water and wind pass through, making it ideal for these children's areas.
In particular, these two actions of Valladolises and Joven Futura, respond to requests from the neighborhood and their mayors pedanias, so the council responds to their needs.
Given the great acceptance they are having, Guillén has announced that it is planned to install more awnings in Gea and Truyols or Plaza Toledo, among others, and has recalled that games have already been covered in San Andrés, Los Garres, Espinardo or the centric Avenue Of Freedom in Murcia.
