The University of Murcia (UMU) has held a conference to publicize the project of Housing Shared with People with Intellectual Disabilities, carried out by the Down Syndrome Foundation of the Region (FUNDOWN) with volunteers from the educational institution.
In the nearly twenty years of life of this program have been more than 200 students of the University of Murcia who have participated in this initiative of coexistence, which in addition to promoting the autonomy of people with intellectual disabilities, is an experience of Understanding and teaching, both for these and for university volunteers.
The UMU's collaboration in the program is managed through its Diversity and Volunteer Attention Service (ADyV), which is part of the Vice-Rectorate of Students.
