On the occasion of the 28th World Rare Disease Day celebration, the Plenary of the City of Murcia has joined this commemoration, through adherence to the Declaration of Principles of the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases (FEDER).
Among the objectives, is the improvement of the quality and life expectancy of people with this type of common disease and their families, since seven out of ten people coexist with this type of problem in Spain, almost three million patients .
With this initiative, it is intended to continue investigating this type of diseases to prevent, diagnose and treat them, as well as continue to provide adequate social and health care to this group.
In this way, new diagnostic procedures for the early detection, adoption of appropriate and internationally recognized classification systems, and the promotion of new therapeutic targets will be used to promote innovative treatments, among other actions.
