The Spanish Debating Forum organizes the first BP tournament at UCAM (23/02/2017)

The Spanish Forum of Debate of the UCAM begins tomorrow the first Tournament in BP mode that will be held the Cartagena Campus tomorrow from 9 am and will have its conclusion at the Campus of Los Jerónimos on Saturday after the same hour.

The competition will involve 36 teams from 17 different institutions that will be divided into four groups.

One team will play the role of government and another, the one of Opposition.

They will have to discuss a different topic in each of the six rounds of the tournament, which will consist of a motion that will be endorsed by the Executive and criticized by the Opposition.

The students will have 15 minutes to prepare the matter for discussion and the speakers will have 7 minutes to present the ideas that have been defended.

Once the rounds have finished, you will move to the semifinal and then to the final.

The team that wins will receive 2,500 euros in cash as a prize.

"These debates stimulate the ability to manage time, analyze, synthesize and argue," explains Pablo Blesa, Vice Chancellor of Communication and International Relations at UCAM.

About this competition, Pablo Blesa stresses that it is "important given that it stimulates speech, which is one of the most missing skills in private enterprise and politics" and that "this is seen when analyzing reports like ADECCO ".
