The Governing Board has given the green light to the extension of the collaboration agreement with the Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness (AFES) to develop the program 'Social educator for mentally ill', allocating an amount of 4,500 euros, through the Department of Sports and Health directed by Felipe Coello.
This program allows to increase the quality of life, autonomy and social management capacity of the users of the center between the ages of 16 and 65 years.
The objective of the agreement is to carry out activities aimed at the interaction and social reintegration of these people affected by chronic mental illness, through the intervention of a specialized social educator that allows to facilitate the autonomy, the capacity of social management and the quality of life Of these people.
The association has a Day Center, which has 75 users daily, and was lifted on a plot that ceded the City of Murcia.
The plot, located in Santiago and Zaraíche, has an area of ​​247 square meters and its economic value amounts to almost 942,000 euros.
The property has a height of five floors and basement, where is housed the dining room and the rest room.
On the ground floor is the reception and exhibition hall of works;
Psychology rooms, social work nursing and library in the first;
While in the other three are the auditorium and computer room, workshops (looms, ceramics, autonomy, painting and binding) and motor and gym rooms.
