Last year, the canoes once again filled the river Segura as it passed through Murcia.
It was on the occasion of the 1st Regatta City of Murcia, which brought together in the capital almost half thousand athletes from various countries.
Since the beginning of the 1980s, Segura was not populated with so many practitioners of the sport, figures that were common in the Segura decades ago.
The University of Murcia, through the Faculty of Sports Sciences, will coordinate the volunteer program of the II Regatta Ciudad de Murcia, which will be held on 25 and 26 February, and which will involve around a Hundreds of students of different degrees that the university itself.
This program has the organization and collaboration of companies such as La Verdad, Cardiosalus or the research groups of the University itself, "INGESPOR" and "Human Performance and Sport Science", whose contributions have made it possible to equip university volunteers to carry out their Work in different sporting events.
This collaboration aims to enhance the values ​​of the university community, and especially in the sports field, in which the students of the University of Murcia will provide logistical support to this test that takes place in the Segura River, City of Murcia.
The creation of this group of volunteers intends to have a long journey being present in other sports events of different nature.
