The Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, and members of the Municipal Corporation received today in the Plenary Hall the 105 Knights and Damas new students of the General Air Academy (AGA) of San Javier.
The mayor welcomed the city to the young people who begin their studies in the Academy, coming from different Spanish cities.
"Life will take you through many destinations, both inside and outside our country, but you will never forget your time in Murcia.
You are the ones that best know the skies of Murcia, those clear skies, clean and transparent, as well as the incomparable light of this city, because as the great poet Jorge Guillén claimed, Murcia is the only place in the world where you can Breathe the light ".
In addition to the mayor and the colonel director of the AGA, Juan Pablo Sánchez de Lara, the lady host Cristina Rodero Postigo spoke on behalf of the hundred students who gathered in the City Hall, after having previously visited the Sanctuary of the Fuensanta.
The young cadet stressed "the warmth of Murcia, his garden, as well as the history and culture" of the municipality, while remembering the linkage of the General Air Academy with the capital of the Region.
After the interventions in the Plenary Hall, a group photo was taken in Plaza Cardenal Belluga and, later, the students enjoyed a guided tour of the Cathedral of Murcia, the Casino and the Salzillo Museum.
