UMU doctoral thesis misses dialogue and communication to improve the coexistence in the classroom (14/02/2017)

A doctoral thesis held at the University of Murcia's School of Education (UMU) has highlighted the need to promote dialogue and communication to achieve better coexistence in the classroom.

This research work, with which its author, Antonia Penalva López has obtained the qualification of outstanding cum laude, points out that the solution to these problems also happens to promote education in values, social and emotional skills and to obtain a methodology that facilitates The cohesion of the group, together with the joint development of standards.

It is also necessary, it is indicated in the conclusions, to promote the figure of the teacher and teacher as moral reference.

Precisely as regards teacher training, research indicates that there is a high percentage of teachers who have not received training in school coexistence, and those who have participated in training initiatives emphasize the shortage of teachers.

On the other hand, the thesis has allowed to verify the desire of the teachers to receive a formation on coexistence that deepens in cognitive, procedural and emotional competences.

This scientific work was directed by professors Catalina Guerrero Romera and María de los Angeles Hernández Prados and tried by a court presided over by Juan Sáez Carreras, all of them UMU professors.
