The Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesús Pacheco attended this morning to the presentation of the IV Murcia Flamenco Singing Contest, organized by the Association of Flamenco Art of Murcia.
The event will take place on February 17 and 18, in La Puerta Falsa, in its qualifying phase, and on February 25, in the Auditorio de Algezares, with the celebration of the final
In the qualifying phase each participant will interpret 3 styles of cante chosen by himself from among the whole family of flamenco cantes, either in time or free, with a maximum duration of 20 minutes.
For the final each participant will interpret 4 styles of cante chosen by himself from among the whole family of flamenco cantes, either in time or free, with a maximum duration of 30 minutes.
The jury will assess the artistic ability of aspirants in terms of voice tuning, compass control, musical expressiveness, communicative ability, intelligibility of the lyrics, presence on stage and variety of styles.
It will also take into account the non-repetition of cantes in the qualifying and final phase.
The total prizes amount to 2,600 euros according to the following distribution:
I. First Prize endowed with € 1,350 + trophy considered by the jury as the best cantaor / a.
II.
Second prize of 750 € + trophy to the second classified.
III.
Third prize of 500 € + trophy to the third classified.
The Association of Flamenco Art of Murcia has as its mission the promotion and promotion of flamenco and folklore, both local and national.
Activities include seminars, courses, workshops, masterclasses, colloquiums, conferences and conferences given by prestigious persons, artistic exhibitions and trips to events and festivals, both inside and outside the region.
Thus, they support new values ​​and figures that emerge in flamenco, providing the necessary professional fabric for their necessary progress and future recognition.
