The Museum of the City increases the space dedicated to the Andalusian period and the number of exhibited pieces and it does so with a renewed, didactic approach and close to all types of visitors.

Pacheco explained that "the large number of excavations that have taken place in the municipality during the last quarter of the twentieth century has brought to light many archaeological pieces that have provided valuable information of our medieval past."

The councilman added that "these pieces, on the one hand, have served to confirm some of the historical theories about Muslim Murcia, but on the other, have also nuanced and expanded what we already knew of that stage. These are pieces of high quality and aesthetic value that can now be seen in detail in the Museum of the City.

The painter Francisco Almagro has donated for this space a work allusive to the archaeological remains of the city.
