Citizens demand to Ballesta effective measures to reduce the vandalism in the stations of bicycles (12/02/2017)

Orange spokesman calls on the current official, Antonio Navarro Corchón, to put more sanity and wisdom to the sterile decisions of his predecessors;

And set in motion a truly ambitious network of bicycle lanes

The spokesman of the Municipal Citizens group, Mario Gómez, has demanded that José Ballesta put in place effective security measures to reduce vandalism in bicycle stations.

"If we really want a sustainable municipality, we need a firm commitment on the part of the local government in the use of the bicycle," said Gómez.

End the hurdles

In this regard, the orange spokesperson has recommended the local PP to support and help the company awarded the public transport service with bicycle to meet the specifications,

And it is not the municipal administration that puts obstacles to guarantee the good operation of the service.

"Today," said Gómez, "all the stations established by the specifications are still in operation, and none of the previous councilors, Antonio Navarro Corchón, has been concerned to enforce it."

We are confident that the new responsible person will continue to focus on ensuring the best service, by approving the installation of surveillance cameras in bicycle stations to reduce the wave of vandalism that the bicycle stations in Murcia are suffering.

Also, from the orange formation they demand to Navarro Corchón that "it puts greater wisdom and sanity to the barren decisions of its ancestors;

And put in place a true and ambitious network of bicycle lanes, more functional and practical, designed to service, decongest traffic and increase air quality;

And not so much to sell kilometers of inefficient bike lane.

Finally, Gómez reported that after the meeting between the Citizens group and the adjudicator MuyBici, "the company has committed to modify the anchorage system to avoid white spots or system errors and make it more resistant to thefts."
