The Monitoring Commission was set up to start up the smart city project'MiMurcia' (08/02/2017)

The plan seeks to attract and improve the conditions of citizens in their interaction with the city |

The Council for Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén, and the Director of Digital Public Services Red.es, Francisco Javier García Vieira, chaired this morning the Commission to follow up the collaboration agreement for the development of the project Smart Murcia (MiMurcia) between the City and RED.es, a public business entity of the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda.

In the meeting, which has been made through videoconference, have also participated the head of the Information Service, José Martínez Márquez;

Professor of Computer Science at the University of Murcia, Antonio Skármeta, and José Ignacio Sánchez Valdenebro, Deputy Director of Intelligent Cities and Open Data at Red.es.

The Commission worked in this session on the definition of the technical specifications of the project and the road map in order to be able to tender in the coming months the development of the actions foreseen in the Initiative ..

This monitoring committee was established in the agreement signed at the end of the year between Red.es and the Consistory, with the purpose of launching the project 'MiMurcia: Your City, Smart, Close, Open and Innovative', beneficiary of the II Call of Intelligent Cities' of the Digital Agenda for Spain.

The planned investment for this project is 7,999,018.82 euros, which will contribute 69% to the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda, through the public entity Red.es, while 31% will be financed by the Town hall.

This set of actions will be co-financed through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

This project has three main axes.

On the one hand, the creation of the Intelligent Information Management System called CEUS (Single Tracking Center), which aims to push the city at all times and to be able to offer decision-making mechanisms, scorecards and at the same time facilitate the Information to citizens, managers and technicians according to their needs.

This system is made up of the 'Smartcity' integration platform that obtains and processes all the information obtained from the different sensors, information sources and existing services, the Business Intelligence (BI) tool that allows analyzing information, managing indicators and tables That will contribute to guide actions in a coherent way and the 'MiMurcia' Platform that will be made up of the different communication channels and the interconnection with the different current systems of the City Council (Offices, Call Centers, Web Portals, Social Networks, Apps and Extranet) to offer specific, personalized and geolocalized actions towards citizens and the city, in areas of communication, administrative resolution and efficiency, open and transparent information and a sustainable environment.

Another axis is the so-called 'Living Murcia' which seeks to modernize mobility and urban quality to revitalize the city center, managing to attract and improve the conditions of citizens in their interaction with the city.

The main actions of this axis are:

- Improvement of the intermodality of public transport and the services of the City Council (Citizen Card)

- Reduction of parking time in the city (Dynamic traffic management system, information panels, Intelligent parking - regulated parking)

- Intelligent Parking - Parking Reduced Mobility

- Smart pedestrian crossing

- Efficient lighting in the center

- City noise map

- Promotion of trade in the center

- Profile of users and tourists

- Improvement of the WIFI network

Finally with 'Enjoy Murcia' is intended to encourage citizens to improve their lifestyle of healthy living and outdoor activities given the weather conditions of Murcia, using their green areas and improving their management and security to increase their use by the citizenship.

In this section will be implemented projects of irrigation automation systems, efficient lighting, surveillance and security, improvement of the municipal wireless network in parks and gardens and monitoring of environmental conditions.

All these axes and actions will also be complemented by measures of dynamization, training and support and the establishment of a demonstration center of the functionalities for citizens, which are the ultimate objective of the actions and improvements of the MiMurcia project.

Co-financing of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)

This call for aid is co-financed through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) under the Intelligent Growth Operational Program (POCInt).

The purpose of the ERDF is to strengthen economic and social cohesion in the European Union and to correct the imbalances between its regions.
