This past January, Llano de Brujas has formed a sports association that aims to promote sports in the town, and whose first objective for this year 2017 is to recover "LA ZANCADA", a traditional and classic popular race in Murcia that was carried out until 2003 by the streets, roads and lanes of this area so emblematic of the orchard of Murcia, which last edition dates from that year 2003, and that already has date for this 2017,
Will be the "Edition 12 + 1" of the Stride.
The association, constituted by a group of friends and neighbors, is constituted to the thread of the expectation and admiration that the figure of Miguel Angel Lopez, Olympic athlete and born in Llano de Brujas, has awakened in the hamlet, and that on some occasion Has said that it is a pleasant memory of his childhood and his beginnings in athletics.
José Antonio Serrano, president of the newly formed Sports Association, said: "The edition 12 + 1 of the Llano de Brujas popular stride we are preparing will be a good attraction and claim for the hamlet, since we have great Sponsors and an excellent organization at all levels.
The main event consists of a circuit of 2 laps of 3.6 kilometers, and will also have children's races and a popular march walking, so that every neighbor and friend who wants to participate can do so even if he is not "in top form".
We intend with this initiative to promote the sport in the hamlet, and to encourage the participation of all the neighbors in sports activities, at the same time recovering traditions like the one of the Stride ".
