More than 150 people participate in the III edition of the 7th Football Tournament in Network for Inclusion (02/02/2017)

The second edition counted on the participation of a hundred people |

With the aim of promoting and favoring processes of social integration and improvement of the quality of life among people who are in situations of vulnerability or social exclusion, FEAFES Mental Health Region of Murcia and La Huertecica Collective, in collaboration with the Department of Sports And Health of the City of Murcia, have launched the III edition of the Football Tournament 7 Network for Inclusion, which will involve more than 150 people.

Councilor for Sports and Health, Felipe Coello, stressed that this initiative, "in addition to promoting healthy habits is a tool for the personal and social development of people, and is one of the tools to break the circle of social exclusion."

Coello recalled that in the last edition, it was attended by a hundred people, and said that the goal "is not to compete, but to generate a dynamic of social inclusion."

In addition, the mayor explained that the beneficiary population of the program, "are young people and adults at risk extreme social exclusion, people with mental health problems and homeless and people from other countries with serious problems of socio-labor integration."

"Sport is a universal language that is presented as a tool capable of establishing the means to help overcome differences and promote values ​​that allow us to imagine a fairer social development project, participation being the tool that motivates change," Has indicated Coello.

Thus, "through sport is transmitted self-discipline, respect for others, strengthens self-confidence, develop leadership skills and the ability to work as a team2," said Sports head.

The participants of this Tournament, which will take place at the Jose Mares Municipal Sports Center, between February and March of this year, are the users of the different entities belonging to different groups that are at risk of social exclusion.

The entities are as follows: FEAFES Mental Health Region of Murcia, Afesmo, CEPAIM, Fundación Diagrama-Heliotropos, Murcia Acoge, Proyecto Hombre, Jesús Abandonado y Colectivo La Huertecica.
