The Municipal Board of Sangonera la Seca carries out activities around the day reading of Nonviolence and Peace (28/01/2017)

The mayor of Grupo Popular, Catalina Carrillo, wants to encourage reading in the smallest with playful activities that bring them closer to literature

The Municipal Board of Sangonera la Seca this Saturday organized activities for the promotion of reading in the smallest with a storytelling workshop commemorating the World Day of Nonviolence and Peace.

This activity is celebrated in the recently opened study room, which is included in the children's library, and as reported by the mayor of the Popular Party in the hamlet, Catalina Carrillo, seeks to inculcate values ​​related to peace to children who Come closer.

The event has been called 'Construcuenta la paz' ​​where in addition to storytelling, you will enjoy sessions of pintacaras for the children and a photocall with the characters of the animated film 'Trolls'.

There will also be a mural called 'kisses of colors' where children will express their kisses and messages against violence, mural that will be exposed in the children's library.

The action is framed within a cycle of activities whose purpose is to involve children in the world of literature from an early age, spreading universal values ​​with stories that are transmitted.

Carrillo said that "these activities are also intended to teach emotional intelligence to the youngest, so that they can identify their emotions and manage them themselves. It is a very complete project with which we intend to provide a broad cultural offer to families. The hamlet ".

Cultural activities every month

In addition, it is planned to carry out a cultural activity every month, from the Municipal Board, around children's reading with different texts depending on the theme of the month, how to deal with the issue of respect, women in March, or the issue Environmental, ... all transmitting ideas so that children become aware of the importance of acting right.

Also, the mayor of the hamlet has managed to ensure that the three AMPAS of the three schools of Sangonera la Seca, carry out activities in the study room of the children's library, so that there would be a bi-weekly program of play activities around reading In the smallest.

Carrillo agrees that "if the schools need any material to carry out these activities, the Municipal Board will provide them without any problem. What we want to achieve is that the children go with their families to the library and that they acquire the habit of reading Watching as their own parents get involved. "
