Institutes of the municipality visit the exhibition 'Refugiados' that shows the life of lodged in fields of France and Greece (27/01/2017)

The Office of Assistance to the Refugee created by the City Council channels the aid for the displaced persons.

The 'Refugees' exhibition, which shows works and lives of refugees from Greece and France, can be visited until February 4 at the Regional Library

The Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz Caballero, has attended the exhibition 'Refugees', which shows works by people who remain blocked in refugee camps in Greece.

The initiative, which are visited by many high schools in the municipality, is part of the actions to raise awareness and help the displaced people of their countries of origin who have the support of the City Council

The exhibition, which is organized by the Association of Passengers of Murcia and can be visited until February 4 in the Regional Library, seeks to promote intercultural exchange and awareness and aims to create a space for dialogue in the face of the humanitarian crisis experienced by Refugees, through the messages that each author wants to make to the world.

The initiative collaborates with the Murcia City Council, the Autonomous Community, the Cajamurcia Foundation, the University of Murcia and the Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena, as well as humanitarian and cultural associations of the Region and NGOs working in this field.

In addition, within this initiative, a series of talks and documentary projections has been programmed, as well as dance and performance shows.

Since September 2015, the City Council has launched the Office of Assistance to Refugees, with the aim of channeling the aid and solidarity of the refugee crisis provoked by the Syrian war.

The office, integrated in the network of primary care of social services, recalled the holder of Social Rights, "also fulfills the function of coordinating municipal actions developed to support people who were welcomed in our municipality and with non-governmental organizations. Governmental organizations responsible for their care. "

From the Town Hall, Ruiz Caballero has pointed out, "we have organized various events in collaboration with the Shelter Platform of Murcia, such as food collection campaign and sanitary products destined for refugee camps in Syria."
