The orange mayor Paqui Pérez will defend this initiative in the form of a motion for this musical event that, at present, is still surrounded by unknowns in terms of its celebration, continue to be held in the capital of the Region

The councilor of the municipal group of Citizens Paqui Pérez will defend a motion next Thursday, January 26, urging the Plenary of the City of Murcia to start the necessary procedures so that both the SOS 4.8 brand and any other associated with this music festival, as Its celebration, remain linked to the municipality of Murcia in an indissoluble way.

The edil orange presents this initiative in the face of uncertainty surrounding the celebration of the SOS 4.8 festival that this year marks its tenth edition and at this point we still do not know for sure whether it will be realized or not, but that, in any case, Pérez has defended, "The City must ensure that this event continues in the capital of the Region."

The Council of Citizens has stressed that the SOS 4.8 is a great opportunity to promote Murcia and place it on the national map of major festivals.

"We are aware that this is an event that, year after year, brings together a large number of people, both from our Community and the rest of Spain, which is a great opportunity for the dissemination of our Region and our municipality ".

To conclude, Paqui Pérez also made reference to the direct economic impact of SOS 4.8 on Murcia and, according to the City Council, in 2015 amounted to about 10 million euros.

"More than enough reasons for this institution to do everything necessary to keep the festival linked to Murcia."
