6 libraries will open Saturdays and Sundays during the exam time (17/01/2017)

This initiative, which starts this weekend and runs until February 19, facilitates the study of university students.

539 reading posts will be available in the libraries Río Segura, San Basilio, Cabezo de Torres, Pelagio Ferrer, La Alberca and Beniaján

The City of Murcia, through the Department of Education, Relations with Universities and Heritage, directed by Rafael Gómez, will open 6 libraries from tomorrow until February 19, coinciding with the time of exams.

In this new period of examinations, the Municipal Library Network of Murcia offers 539 reading posts in the libraries of Río Segura (264), San Basilio (86), Cabezo de Torres (68), Pelagio Ferrer (El Palmar, 53 ), La Alberca (50) and Beniaján (18).

The objective of this initiative is that students, especially university students, have adequate spaces to prepare their next exams also during the weekend, including also free Wifi.

In this way, university students, who make the most use of these facilities, will have an extension of hours that will run from 16:00 to 21:00 on Saturdays, and from 9:00 to 21:00 : 00 hours on Sundays.

In addition to the use of reading rooms of libraries as study rooms, loans of books, films, etc. can also be returned at any time.

During the past year, 11,439 students made use of this service, which was offered during the weekends of January-February and May-June.

The Municipal Library Network of Murcia, has 17 libraries, the Library "Saavedra Fajardo" and the Municipal Room of Study Sangonera la Seca whose opening hours are from Monday to Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 16 : 00 to 21:30 hours.
