Proyecto Hombre begins in Murcia a campaign that shows the other face of the addictions (16/01/2017)

The campaign begins today in collaboration with the City Council and will be disseminated through a hundred of mupis distributed by the municipality.

The graphic concept uses a resource known as 'Thatcher effect', an optical illusion that conditions the way the faces are interpreted when they are oriented backwards.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, the president of the Foundation Solidarity and Reinsertion Foundation, Tomás Zamora Ros, and the director of Proyecto Hombre Murcia, Asunción Santos de Pascual, presented today in Santo Domingo the campaign 'Addictions always hide their true face' , Designed to make the problem of addictions visible and to make Murcia society more aware.

The posters of this campaign of awareness of Project Man that begins today and that the City council will spread through leaflets in the municipal booth of Santo Domingo and a hundred of mupis distributed by the municipality, show the faces of people apparently 'normal' that , However, looking down they reveal distorted and disturbing expressions.

The campaign uses a resource known as the 'Thatcher effect', an optical illusion that conditions the way people interpret faces when they are turned upside down, to convey that "we must look beyond appearances and turn our vision To understand the problem that many people are experiencing because of addictions, "explained the mayor, who emphasized that" the second objective of the campaign - and perhaps the most important - is to remember that we must ask for help, because it is a Problem with solution and this is essential to make it clear. "

Last year Proyecto Hombre attended about 1,500 people in Murcia, who went through different treatment programs, thanks to the work done by the 25 professionals in the field of addictions that integrate the team of the institution among psychologists, social workers, pedagogues, Social educators, etc.

It also highlights the work carried out by the Board and about 130 volunteers who contribute their time and effort with the institution.

In this sense, the mayor revealed "the 20 years of unconditional work of Proyecto Hombre at the service of Murcia society and his expert work both in the prevention and treatment of addictions, always putting above the dignity of the human being."

In this line, the President of the Board of Directors D. Tomás Zamora reiterated "his gratitude to the City of Murcia, firstly for this collaboration in the dissemination campaign, which is so important to help people, and secondly, This manifest support of the mayor since the beginning of Proyecto Hombre Murcia. "

The 'Youth' and 'Nocturno' programs, the most in demand

Proyecto Hombre offers different programs that adapt to different profiles.

Last year, the most demanded was the program 'Nocturno', intended for people with a family, social and work structure that still maintain and that allows users to combine treatment with work, since it is done in the afternoon- night.

Another very popular program is the 'Youth', aimed at people between the ages of 14 and 21, who are beginning to have consumption or are at risk.

For this profile Proyecto Hombre also carries out a school-based prevention work in the region's educational centers, providing guidance and counseling to help young people and has a 'Parent Workshop' in which the whole family can participate.
