A new program to combat school failure will reach more than 250 adolescents (07/01/2017)

The Council of Social Rights will develop as of February a new program that will allow the realization of a set of activities and tasks to combat school failure and social integration of Murcia adolescents over the next two years .

In this way, the age of the Children's Activities Project already developed by the Social Services in the districts and districts of the municipality with children under 13

The actions, in which will be invested 539,000 euros, will be developed in 15 neighborhoods and districts to determine the municipal social services.

It is a question of providing young people with a series of resources that compensate their needs and social and educational needs, enhancing their aspirations, and focusing on aspects of their daily lives, their family and the educational center.

The project will be developed with groups of 15 young people and adolescents between 13 and 17 years old in each group.

Each will focus efforts on improving their social skills for managing emotions, academic achievement and an appropriate use of new technologies.

Among the activities that will be developed are health education, environmental education, healthy eating, information on socio-educational resources, educational insertion itineraries for young people who present absenteeism or dropping out of school, as well as basic skills for job search, respect To different sexual orientations and tolerance to other cultures, solidarity values, promotion of social volunteering and proper use of new technologies for academic reinforcement.
