More than 16,000 children participated in environmental education activities and good cleaning and recycling habits during 2016 (03/01/2017)

A total of 16,272 schoolchildren from schools in the municipality participated during the 2016 in environmental education activities and good habits in cleaning and recycling organized by the Department of Fomento and Ferrovial Services.

In this period educational talks have been offered in 92 schools in which 3,428 students participated in 4th grade and 3,304 students in 5th grade, while visits were made to the Cañada Hermosa Waste Treatment Center in 75 schools with 3,585 Students of 6th grade.

It is necessary to emphasize the activity carried out by the crocodile Drilo that is novelty of this course and that is destined to children of 6 to 8 years.

A total of 5,955 students from 53 schools have been able, along with the popular character, to learn to recycle and maintain civic conduct of cleaning

Awareness-raising activities are targeted at second-level primary education courses through school talks such as 'The Waste Game' in Grade 4 and 'Waste from Now, Waste Now' in Grade 5.

Subsequently, at the end of the Primary stage students visit the waste treatment center of Cañada Hermosa to know in situ the treatment applied to the rubbish produced daily by the citizens.
