The Parks and Gardens Service, under the Department of Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, directed by José Guillén, is working on the integral rehabilitation of the Salitre Garden.

The installation of a new labyrinth, totally free of use, of more than 150 linear meters "which seeks to attract all Murcia, but above all to children and young people who are the most enjoy it," says the councilman José Guillén.

This new labyrinth also has half a thousand shrubs and an automatic drip irrigation system which facilitates its maintenance and saves water.

In the works, which have participated a fortnight of people, have installed a score of different species to make more interesting the way through this space located next to the lake of the Garden of the Saltpeter.

In addition, the Parks and Gardens Service is renovating the pavement, has placed Albero Sevillian of this central park and reforming the irrigation network that allows a significant water saving.

Likewise, the works for conditioning the connection between the Garden of the Saltpeter and the garden-garden López Ferrer are currently in tender.

The works consist in the creation of a suitable route to the current pedestrian crossings, made by paving with paving stones, to facilitate the transition between the two gardens.

In addition, in the flower beds obtained after the creation of the road, which will be properly illuminated, plant soil will be spread and localized irrigation emitters will be installed.

In the route will be planted different species such as abelias, ferns, violets, lilies, ruselias, lilies, lilies, clivias, lavenders or daisies, among others.

Finally, seat benches and seats will be installed, and geriatric gymnastics equipment will be installed later.

Councilor José Guillén explained that "we are equipping our green areas with differentiating elements and new infrastructures that allow them to become spaces of leisure and coexistence of Murcia. In this way, in addition to this labyrinth in which the smaller ones are going to We are creating new areas for children and gerontogimnasia, sports areas, canine recreation, shade and other actions that are energizing our parks and gardens.
