The Social Council of the University of Murcia (UMU), which chairs Encarna Zamora, today approved the budgets of this institution for 2017, which amount to almost 214 million euros, an increase of 4.67 percent With respect to those of 2016.
The large figures of these Budgets have been presented by the Vice Chancellor of Economy, Sustainability and Health Sciences, José María Abellán, who has indicated that they are less expansive than those of the current year and perfectly fundable.
For its preparation, it has said, it has been prudent, to contemplate the uncertainties of the international economy and, especially, the impact that can have for the Region of Murcia the Brexit and the deficit that drag the regional finances.
The Vice-Rector pointed out that the Budgets place special emphasis on the stabilization and promotion of staff, the expansion of mobility grants and attention to diversity and the promotion of actions aimed at research.
Also on this occasion the university community can decide the destination to give 150,000 euros, compared to 50,000 that were reserved in this chapter for 2016. In 2017 may participate not only students, as occurred the previous time, but also teachers And administration and services personnel.
In this session of the Council, which was held in the Convalescence building, the rector of the UMU, José Orihuela, has announced that a report on accountability will be commissioned by the UNESCO Chair of the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
Also referred to the efforts that are carried out with the Autonomous Community for the integration in the UMU of the School attached to Nursing in Cartagena.
