A Christmas to rhythm of opera, jazz, rock, are Cuban and aguinaldos huertanos (23/12/2016)

Murcia resumes the program of events and Christmas events, after heavy rains last weekend, restoring the usual activity during these holidays.

This afternoon the city hosts three free musical performances: 'Opera: tenors and choir for a big tree' in La Circular;

The lyrical con-cert 'Brinde con nosotros', in Plaza Cardenal Belluga;

And the Christmas Rock Festival, in the Plaza de la Universidad

The mayor of Murcia accompanied by the councilors of Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén, and Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesús Pacheco, presented today the program of free Christmas concerts, which will host different public spaces of the municipality during the holidays .

"We resumed the programming of events and Christmas events, after heavy rains last weekend, restoring the usual activity of Murcia during these dates.

The whole program, all the squares, every day, are full of music in all their records, from the most traditional of our land to the most international music, "stressed the mayor.

"Christmas in Murcia is written with musical notes, with a variety of styles for all tastes and audiences that includes opera, choral and orchestras, jazz, Cuban music and salsa, Renaissance and baroque music, rock and, of course, traditional music Huertana ".

Thus, this afternoon the city will host three free musical shows: 'Opera: tenors and choir for a big tree', in the Circular, at 20.30;

The lyrical concert also with fragments of opera and international songs 'Brinde con nosotros', in Plaza Cardenal Belluga, at 19 and 20 hours;

And the Christmas Rock Festival, in the Plaza de la Universidad, at 8:00 p.m.

Opera in the Circular and Plaza Cardenal Belluga

The opera show for all audiences under the Gran Árbol this afternoon, by the Orfeón de Voces Crevillentinas, with the soprano Cyntia Moleón and the baritone Jorge Páez, will be repeated on December 29th and 30th, and the 3rd and 4th Of January, at 8:30 p.m.

The repertoire includes classic themes such as 'Night of Peace', 'Adeste Fideles', 'White Christmas' or Cohen's 'Hallelujah'.

The Plaza Cardenal Belluga will be another stage that hosts lyrical music, with the show 'Brinde con nosotros', by which lyrical singers Rosa Ruiz, María José Molina, Guadalupe Holguera, Gonzalo Terán, Manuel de Diego and Jesús Lumbreras, with The orchestra directed by Felix San Mateo, will interpret fragments of operas and international songs of all time.

From this afternoon until December 27, 19 and 20 hours (day 24 at 18 and 19 hours).

Christmas to rock and roll rhythm

The Christmas program of the City of Murcia gives a place to rock, with the sixth edition of 'Christmas Rock', which will take place this afternoon, at 20.00 hours, in the Plaza de la Merced.

Carols and Christmas songs are performed at the rhythm of rock and roll by seven Murcian singers: Jam Albarracín, singer from Murcia, leader of Guard Pharmacy;

Jesús Cobarro, from the Noise Box group;

Winners of Creajoven;

Marta Casanova, young Cartagena singer based in Berlin;

Pike Cavalero, one of the musicians of Murcian rock and roll who has traveled the most abroad,

Clara Plath, artist and poet from Murcia;

Adrián Gutiérrez, leader of the Nunatak group;

And Aaron Saez awarded in various editions of Creajoven.

Musical program in the Great Tree of the Circular

The Grand Tree will host concerts and musical performances throughout the holidays.

On Tuesday 27, at 20.30 hours, it will be Patiño's Crew that brings the traditional music from Murcia to La Redonda, with the hinaltanos and their dances.

The following day, Wednesday 28, also at 20.30, is the Christmas-Sound turn by Animalsound, a Christmas music show in chill out key, by a DJ.

In addition to the workshops and activities for children that are held daily in the Grand Tree, the younger ones can enjoy the music with the 'Cantabaila to the rhythm of your body at Christmas', held from today until 4 January, at 7.30 pm (except on 24, 25, 31 and 1).

A New Orleans-style farewell

The farewell of 2016 in Murcia will sound to the rhythm of New Orleans, since a group to the style of the jazz bands of the city of Louisiana will cross the streets of the center of Murcia, saying farewell to the outgoing year.

It will be from 28 to 31 December, from 11 to 13.30 and from 18.30 to 20.30, with a tour from the Plaza of the Apostles to Santo Domingo.

On Saturday 31 at 12.00, it is the turn of the New Year's Eve in the Plaza de Santo Domingo, a fun celebration with grapes, cotillones and music in which all children who want to participate, as an aperitif to the Bells and party of End of the year that will host the same place at night, and will feature performances by the Cuban group 'Chocolate Son' and 'Rebobina'.

Christmas Concerts:

Avenida Libertad will host Monday, December 26, the concert 'Murcia for Christmas', with the choir Discantus, Azarbe and Julián Páez, at 12:30 p.m.

Simultaneously, the Plaza del Romea will host the Christmas Concert of the Musical Association of Beniaján.

Renaissance and Baroque music:

The Cantoría will perform, under the direction of Jorge Losana, in the municipal nativity scene, on the 5th of January in the afternoon, after the Cavalcade of Three Wise Men, which will leave San Juan de la Cruz (in the Infante neighborhood), and end In Gutiérrez Mellado.

Tradition Huertana:

Of course, "we will also have the huertanas, which have been totally involved in the Murcian Christmas, singing Christmas bonuses and Christmas carols", in stages such as the Episcopal Palace, the Ramón Gaya Museum and other areas of the city and districts .

Music, dance and audiovisual in the Plaza de la Paja:

Classes of zumba, hip hop, break dance, street dance battles, etc.
