The Municipal People's Group recognizes institutionally the figure of the Volunteer and of the organizations of the Volunteer (21/12/2016)

The motion presented on the occasion of the International Day of Volunteering, held on December 5, supports initiatives and projects organized by entities dedicated to this purpose because they have a positive impact on the municipality of Murcia

The councilor of the Municipal People's Group, Conchita Ruiz Caballero, tomorrow will present a motion, on the occasion of the International Day of Volunteering, held on December 5, to publicly acknowledge and thank the work of entities and volunteers of the municipality Of Murcia that collaborate day by day with a disinterested work, and solidarity.

In this way, Ruiz Caballero said, "we have transferred our support and gratitude to this 'large family of volunteers' and we continue to collaborate with the initiatives and projects organized by these entities dedicated to volunteering, because they have a very positive impact on the general interest of the Municipality, making it possible, even more supportive. "

Caballero recalled that the City of Murcia is working and supporting this work, since "we are aware that it is the expression of organized actions and based on essential democratic values ​​such as social justice and citizen participation."

Thus, explained the councilor 'popular', "in the new Social Volunteer Program, it is stated as a general objective, to establish a general frame of reference on social volunteering, unifying criteria in the actions that are carried out from the Services Social Municipalities to offer resources and services in a homogeneous way for the municipality, maintaining the necessary characteristics ".

Likewise, added Ruiz Caballero, the Program also "establishes actions that enhance collaboration and coordination with entities and associations in matters of social volunteering."

Finally, the Councilor for Social Rights recalled that in 2016, "there are 357 volunteers distributed in the areas of Childhood, Social Services, immigrant women, elderly, women victims of gender violence and Social Emergency Attention Service (SEMAS) Who work for this work ".

They are joined by volunteers registered in other councils of the City of Murcia as Sports, Environment and Youth, and the thousands of people who devote their time to vulnerable groups, from the different associations and entities of the Third Sector that are implemented in the town.
