Suspended classes in schools throughout the municipality due to heavy rains (18/12/2016)

The Mayor, José Ballesta, has held a new meeting this afternoon, which was attended by the spokesman of the Municipal Socialist Group, José Ignacio Gras, with councilors and officials of the Security Corps, in the control room of Aguas de Murcia , Located in the Plaza Circular, to continue coordinating in real time the device put in place to minimize as much as possible the effects of heavy rains.

Ballesta has announced that Monday morning the school classes will be suspended in schools, conciliation centers, children's, primary and secondary schools throughout the municipality, both public and private, after having been consulted with the School Board and the various AMPAS.

So far, the most outstanding facts have been the evictions of three houses in Algezares, 18 in Torreagüera and one in El Palmar.

The Mobile Emergency and Social Care Service has provided the necessary support with a team of seven people who, accompanied by three local police, have acted in both areas.

In El Palmar the residents of this house have been relocated with their families while in Torreagüera all the families have relocated with relatives except one who has been transferred to a hotel and three who have not wanted to leave their homes.

Likewise, firefighters have had to rescue 5 elderly people in a zodiac on the Old Road to Tabala de Zeneta, the river has been overflowed on the bridge of Alquerías and a wall has fallen on the street Galilea de Algezares.

It should be remembered that during the day they have worked to minimize the effects of rain, 46 Emuasa technicians, 110 local police, 58 firefighters, 30 people and 26 vehicles, 12 Civil Protection volunteers, 10 lighting technicians and Six teams with 12 people from Parks and Gardens.
