Pacheco: "The anti-PP front not only does not participate in the projects of the municipality, but also do not find out that yes do associations and neighbors" (12/12/2016)

The councilor, responsible for the project "It Murcia", presented to the call for European funds, regrets that the councilors of the opposition "do not know to distinguish between municipal investments in neighborhoods and districts and promoted with funds ERDF"

Sectoral tables, personal and online citizen surveys, citizen mailbox, interviews and debates at the City Council are some of the tools used to ensure citizen participation

The project "It Murcia", whose initiatives include an ambitious program of integral action in La Paz, has been the municipal plan approved and defined with the largest participatory process of all those that have been carried out in the municipality until now.

That is why it is "surprising" that opposition political groups, united again on their anti-PP front, "expose their disinterest" for issues that are so important to neighborhoods and districts.

It should be clarified that the fact that "do not take interest in intervening, does not mean that associations, neighborhood groups and Murcia individually do not," said Jesús Pacheco, Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture.

In this sense, Pacheco recalls that the projects included in the Integrated Urban Development Strategy (DUSI), 'It Murcia: Innovation + Tradition', framed in the priority axes of the Murcia 2020 Strategy, have in their own definition the development of a broad Participatory process which, in particular, has been shown by:

Design of the strategy, presented to the Social Council of the City, requesting collaboration through 6 sectoral and transversal workshops (in all of them the La Paz project was present).

Simultaneously:

Collection of citizen contributions through: a citizen consultation of 1,000 surveys in 6 areas of the municipality, to ensure greater representativeness of the information.

Questionnaire open to all the population and easily accessible through the Web: www.estrategiamurcia.es, accessible so that any citizen can participate in an anonymous, agile and simple way.

Citizen's mailbox.

Accessible also through the website.

Website of the Strategy Murcia 2020 and EDUSI "IT Murcia", which collects information on the whole process and whose design was made taking into account the contributions of the working tables.

Interviews with other social, economic and institutional agents through network analysis and the voluntary ascription of all those entities, social agents or political parties that expressed their interest to be part of the process.

Based on all the information generated in the previous phase, a proposal document was elaborated that was submitted to the plenary of the Social Council, and whose presentation was carried out by the presidents of each work table.

At that time, a new period of debate and contributions was opened on this document which finally concluded with its ratification in the Plenum of the Social Council and subsequent approval by the Governing Board.

"It seems a lie and it is inexplicable that the opposition councilors do not know or do not want to find out about the work carried out by the City Council," says Pacheco, who can not be understood to "confuse municipal investments in neighborhoods And pedanías with the projects financed with funds Feder ".
