Social Rights launches a new program to promote social volunteering (05/12/2016)

With this program, coordination and collaboration with organizations and associations working in the municipality in this area is strengthened.

The Council of Social Rights, has 357 people who carry out volunteer work in the area of ​​childhood.

The City of Murcia launches three Volunteer Offices and a Municipal Social Volunteer Exchange

The Council of Social Rights, led by Conchita Conchita Ruiz Caballero, presented this morning a new program to promote volunteering and social participation, which includes basic principles of freedom, solidarity, coexistence in a democratic, participatory and fair society.

With this program, which is a form of expression of solidarity in actions that contribute to social well-being, it enhances the coordination and collaboration with entities and associations working in the municipality in this matter.

The purpose of this action, said Ruiz Caballero, is "to establish a general frame of reference in matters of social volunteering in the municipality, unifying criteria in the development of projects and actions, as well as establishing forms of collaboration and coordination with the Third Sector ".

Four strategic lines of action are established in the program: awareness-raising and dissemination;

Management and support;

Innovation and quality;

And coordination and collaboration.

With these lines, the aim is to foster a culture of solidarity and social participation, to promote and reinforce volunteering, to promote improvement measures and to strengthen the relationship of volunteers with the entities of the Third Sector of social action with municipal services in meeting the needs social.

The Department of Social Rights, has 357 people who carry out volunteer work in the area of ​​childhood;

In the municipal centers of Social Services of Ciudad de Murcia, Murcia Norte, Murcia Sur;

Section of elderly, women and social emergency care service (SEMAS).

In addition, three Volunteer Offices and a Municipal Social Volunteer Exchange have been set up.

The main individual activities carried out by volunteers, under the supervision and support of the professionals of the Municipal Social Services, are accompaniment (shopping, personal cleanliness, domestic cleaning, leisure and free time, etc.) and support.
