More than a thousand new trees begin to be planted as part of the winter campaign (30/11/2016)

The Parks and Gardens Service, which is part of the Department of Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, led by José Guillén, has begun planting more than a thousand new trees for the winter campaign.

The City Council thus gives continuity to the campaign of deconcentration initiated last week.

The councilman explained that "November is the ideal month to start planting new plants that have dried or been damaged, while restoring old stumps. Specifically, the new specimens, between 1,000 and 1,500 are mostly mulberries , Orange trees and some other autochthonous species ".

A brigade composed of around 25 people will be dedicated from this month to March to plant the necessary copies and whose objective is that "sidewalks, parks and public spaces that need it have their green areas in good condition contributing also to a Maintenance of green spaces, "explains Guillén.

A task that complements the one that is being carried out by the Town Council of disconcerting, that is to say, to remove remains of old trunks that annoy in the sidewalks or green zones and to plant new units.

Guillén notes that "not only new trees are planted at this time, but also in a specific way throughout the year in those areas that suffer the loss of one of these specimens."

The councilman emphasizes that "the policy of the City Council is to recover all trees and individuals that due to illness or various circumstances have been damaged or eliminated"

Guillén explained that the City Council "continues to bet on offering Murcia quality green spaces to enjoy common areas."
