The Council of Social Rights headed by Conchita Ruiz Caballero has organized the conference 'The challenge of the new citizenship: Being greater in the 21st century', to train and recycle the management teams of social centers on new activities that promote active aging , Improve the quality of life and promote the involvement in the community life of our elders.
The seminars, which take place today and tomorrow in the auditorium of the paraninfo of the University of Murcia and which have been attended by 112 majors, are addressed to all the boards of directors of the 76 major social centers of the municipality.
The Councilor for Social Rights stressed the importance of this initiative, because "there have been many changes in recent years in general in the group of the elderly and we need to adapt the services and activities of the centers to the needs of these people."
"Some of these changes are an increase in life expectancy, new opportunities, changes in life expectancy, culture and leisure," said Ruiz Caballero.
