Now Murcia: "We are satisfied with the approval in yesterday's plenary session of three of our motions" (25/11/2016)

The Plenary yesterday was unanimously approved of three of the issues we have, relating to the Mediterranean Corridor, the PECHA buildings demolished and Civil Protection.

On the contrary, our motion to fight energy poverty was replaced by PP and C's for an alternative that opens the door to not applying the law in force.

In addition, we participate in two joint motions and we join a third joint, while we bring an amendment of addition to a text of the PSOE.

Our motion concerning the buildings of the PECHA (Special Plan of the Historic Artistic Complex of Murcia) that have been demolished was approved unanimously, and supposes, in the words of Angeles Micol, "to begin to unravel a tangle that has been getting more and more Large during the last 20 years. After two decades of PECHA has been demonstrated the practical inoperability of the protection measures that should have been applied strictly from the Department of Urbanism.

The Councilor states that "to the rate of destruction that the City Council has allowed, in less than a century there would be no protected buildings in our city beyond the churches and palaces."

It also had the support of all the municipal groups our motion requesting more and better means for the Association of Volunteers of Civil Protection of the City council.

In defending the proposal, Alicia Morales said that "currently have vehicles and other means obsolete, in addition to having little space and facilities in prefabricated barracks."

The spokesman of Now Murcia asked that recovery for the Association a neighboring land belonging to Civil Protection but is using another service of the City.

"The motion reflects our commitment to the volunteers, who carry out such an important work in the municipality," explains the councilor.

"We will be vigilant so that everything we ask is carried out."

It is also very important to approve the motion for the Mediterranean Corridor, which became a text agreed by all the groups of the Corporation.

The proposal contemplates urging the regional and state governments to take seriously the development of this infrastructure once, which Micol emphasized in his speech "is vital for our municipality, so that we do not get off the hook."

The text also aims to transport freight from the city center.

As we pointed out earlier, the most negative news of this Plenary was the presentation and approval by PP and Citizens of an alternative motion to ours to fight energy poverty in the municipality.

Our proposal was based on demanding the application of Regional Law 10/2016, of June 7, already approved but not being applied.

Morales stressed that this law "is a very powerful tool to combat energy poverty" and he deeply regretted that "PP and Citizens have voted against applying this law in force, trying to repeal it by taking it to the Constitutional Court. Shocking the position of Citizens, who supported this same law in the regional Assembly.

Yes it went ahead the motion that we carried along with PSOE for the protection of the wheel of the Ñora and its surroundings.

Micol hopes that "the measures of the proposal will be carried out as soon as possible" and points out that "the situation of this monument is another example of the lack of coordination between the municipal and autonomous authorities in terms of cultural heritage. Leads to the lack of protection of our monuments, in this case with the aggravation of being one of the emblematic symbols of the Huerta de Murcia.

In addition, we present an amendment to add to the motion of the PSOE on the Council of Good Men of the Garden of Murcia, which was approved.

Our point urges the City Council, the Autonomous Community, the CHS and the Board of Landowners to fulfill all the commitments that led to this institution being declared an Intangible Heritage by UNESCO, "but many of which are not being carried out" , According to Morales.

"We will be attentive to these commitments are fulfilled, because besides being important, if they are not realized we could lose that recognition of UNESCO".

We also participate in the joint motions of all groups to declare the municipality free from tax havens and in another for the development, implementation and evaluation of measures that respond to the mental health needs of people with ASD Of the Autistic Spectrum).

Finally, we abstained with respect to the beginning of the procedure of declaration of non-compliance of the Agreement New Condomina, for not constructing the promoter the golf course to which it was bound.

Micol stressed that one of the technical reports in the file on the agreement warned that guarantees were necessary because, otherwise, the developer could apply a "delaying technique for non-compliance, as has finally happened."
