The PSOE brings forward all the initiatives presented to the Plenum of the City of Murcia in November (24/11/2016)

Thanks to the motions of the PSOE, the city council will recover the management of Espinardo's outdoor sports courts, provide cycle lanes and sidewalks suitable to the Southern Coast and will carry out actions of conservation of the Eremitory of La Luz, among others measurements

The Municipal Socialist Group has succeeded this Thursday in taking forward all the initiatives presented to the November Ordinary Plenary.

The PSOE has defended nine own and three joint initiatives, in addition to other motions of importance to the municipality presented by other groups.

Of the nine motions signed alone, the municipal plenum has reached an agreement for the approval of seven of the nine.

The other two initiatives, concerning the halting of the works in the perimeter of the San Esteban field and the modification of the title of Favorite Son of the City of Murcia by Favorite Son of Murcia or the municipality, have been withdrawn after having obtained the title Commitment of the government team and other groups of the Municipal Corporation.

The spokesman of the Socialist Group, José Ignacio Gras, has highlighted the motion that will allow the review of the spending rule of the consistory.

"What we want is that our city council, which currently does not have to deal with large debts, can invest the surplus in actions as necessary as the creation and promotion of employment or the improvement of public services," said Gras.

The mayor also stressed that, thanks to the initiative of the PSOE, "the outdoor sports courts in Espinardo (JC1), which until now were managed by a private company and should be controlled by the consistory, will ultimately be managed Municipal for the benefit of all Murcia and Murcia. "

Gras has also emphasized the importance of having made a commitment to put into value and properly preserve the Hermitage of La Luz, the surroundings of La Nora River and the intangible heritage of the Council of Good Men.

"In this House we have defended several motions aimed at enhancing and highlighting our heritage, material or not, which is an important part of who we are, our history and culture. Other approved initiatives have focused directly on security in the municipality.

On the one hand, the Plenary has agreed to support the socialist motion to establish a protocol of action regarding the recycling of Local Police personnel and in anticipation of new additions or readmissions.

In addition, the Socialist Group has launched an initiative to provide the Southern Coastal with adequate bike lanes and sidewalks, as the area is currently dangerous for cyclists and pedestrians.

"On the other hand, we have also put on the table the need to restore dignity to those people buried in the D zone of Our Father Jesus Cemetery, the forgotten, who deserve the same respect and memory as the rest of the neighbors who have Received burial in Murcia, "said Gras, who has demanded the conditioning of the area and an inventory of those who rest there.

Finally, the Socialist spokesman has taken advantage of the Murcia Declaration as a territory free of tax havens and, of course, the Institutional Declaration of the City of Murcia for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, which will take place Friday 25th of November.
