The Civil Guard dismantles an active youth gang dedicated to the subtraction of motorcycles and mopeds (22/11/2016)

Nine persons, six of them minors, have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of robbery with force, documentary misrepresentation and reception

So far have been clarified 35 criminal acts committed in the murcian hamlet of Alquerías, Torreagüera, Beniaján and Puente Tocinos

Two parts of mopeds and motorcycles, such as chassis, wheels, license plates, fairings and motors, have been recovered from the records in two buildings in Alquerías and in a mechanical workshop in Beniel.

The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'TROQUEDOS', to investigate the subtraction of a high number of mopeds and motorcycles in different districts of Murcia, which has resulted in the dismantling of a criminal organization, based in Alquerías- Murcia, and formed by nine people, six of them minors who have been arrested as alleged perpetrators of the theft crimes with force, documentary misrepresentation and reception.

Two pieces of mopeds and motorcycles, such as chassis, wheels, license plates, fairings and engines, have been seized in two houses in Alquerías and in a workshop in Beniel, some of which had been modified Color and erase the rack number.

The Benemérita began the investigation in December of last year, 2015, when detecting an increase of the thefts of mopeds and motorcycles in the localities of Alquerías, Torreagüera and Beniaján, facts that had generated some social alarm in the zone.

The detailed study of these facts, a priori isolated, allowed to detect certain nexuses of union that led to suspect that the robberies were being committed by a same group of people, with certain criminal knowledge.

As a result of these inquiries, the Civil Guard identified another possible coincidence between the crimes investigated.

Some of the victims had announced the sale of the vehicles in a well-known Internet portal, with the particularity that in this page, the seller can also indicate the place where the product is for sale, through its location via GPS .

With this information, the Civil Guard established a series of surveillance of the addresses related to some of the announcements, where they detected the presence of several young people in a suspicious attitude so that the services were maintained until the arrest, in fraganti, of several of When they were about to commit the robbery.

A criminal group led by a fierce leader

Recently, and in the wake of these arrests, the Civil Guard has identified the other members of this criminal organization that, under the leadership of the alleged leader, a young man, 18 years old and a neighbor of the Murcia hamlet of Alquerías, to which the rest of the Group dubbed 'the Chief' - performed the various criminal tasks.

Investigators have found that those now detained worked under the iron hand of this young man who allegedly did not hesitate to intimidate them when his orders were not fulfilled or when they decided to leave the group.

Exploitation of the operation 'TROQUEDOS'

Recently, the Civil Guard has informed the judicial authority of the result of the investigation, which has authorized the registration of two houses in Alquerías and the inspection of the mechanical workshop in Beniel, where many pieces of mopeds and motorcycles have been recovered Such as chassis, wheels, license plates, fairings and motors, some of which had been modified in their color and erased the rack number.

The operation has culminated in the dismantling of an active criminal organization with the detention of its nine members, six of them minors, including eight Spanish citizens aged between 18 and 57 and a Moroccan citizen of 16 Years old, all of them neighbors of the Murcian villages of Alquerías, Torreagüera, San José de la Vega, El Raal and Puente Tocinos.

So far, they are attributed the alleged authorship of 35 criminal acts related to robberies with force, documentary falsification and reception.
