The PSOE demands to recover the management of the outdoor sports courts of Espinardo (22/11/2016)

The councilor of the Municipal Socialist Group, Susana Hernández, announced Tuesday that the PSOE will defend next Thursday in Plenary an initiative for the City of Murcia to recover the management of outdoor sports courts located next to the Sports Pavilion of Espinardo.

The mayor explained that in 2006 the town council gave a municipal land to the company Intersa for the construction of a sports center, a hotel complex, an office building and a parking area.

"The agreement signed by both parties included the transfer for the benefit of the neighbors of Espinardo of a social center with auditorium, children's school, multipurpose room and cafeteria, as well as outdoor sports courts", has Indicated Hernández.

It is at that point, in the exploitation of the sports courts, in which the socialist councilor denounces non-compliance.

"The outdoor sports courts have been exploited unilaterally by the company Intersa, without any consideration for the City of Murcia and only responding to the benefit of the company."

"The motion that we will defend Thursday in the Municipal Plenary is aimed at taking the necessary steps to regain control of these tracks in favor of Espinardo's neighbors and to clarify, on the part of the Legal Services, in which points has been breached The agreement signed and how has been the management carried out by Intersa in these years, "added the mayor.

"The management of these sports courts should have been put out to public competition." The PP governments in the City of Murcia should not have allowed a private company to do business in a municipal space is another example of what has been the PP To facilitate private gain, "insisted Susana Hernández.

The councilor of the Socialist Group has also reminded that it was the PSOE who managed through complaints and demands that the City of Murcia charged rent for the use of children's school included in the complex of Intersa.

"We will not stop until we regain control of the sports court, which should be under municipal management, and we will demand clarification of everything related to this agreement and the exploitation of the space of municipal ownership," he concluded.
