The new municipal cartography specifically - 10cm / pixel and at scale 1/1000 - will analyze the development and fulfillment of the planning forecasts and will serve as a basis for the elaboration of the criteria to be followed in the planning of the municipality.

To carry out the photogrammetric flight, the Governing Board has approved the list of administrative clauses for its contracting for an amount of 54,208 euros.

Next to this, another instrumentation is placed in order to determine the position of the airplane at the moment in which the photograph is taken to stabilize the camera and compensate the movement of the airplane.

Photogrammetry has become one of the main ways of incorporating information into a map or to a GIS (Geographic Information System) system, due, among other reasons, to the speed of execution and precision.

This action is part of the joint collaboration agreement between the City of Murcia and the UPCT initialed last month, which will provide an objective diagnosis of how the municipality has evolved territorially and plan its future growth in a sustainable, orderly and adapted to The new social and population reality.

The cartographic flight of the whole territory - the last one was carried out in 2013 - will provide a fixed photo of the present urban moment, a work that will benefit not only the municipal technicians and university researchers, but the whole society, That reliable and up-to-date information can be accessed.

Once the new digital cartography and the planning dump have been carried out, a participatory process will be initiated, open to the different social agents, in which the criteria for the revision of the PGOU will be established, according to the defined development model.
