The City Council presents the project "It Murcia" to the second call for funds Feder (18/11/2016)

The financeable axes are E- administration and Smart Murcia;

Sustainable mobility;

Valorization of the urban patrimonial elements and the orchard as tourist-cultural element;

Segura River as a backbone of the municipality;

And Physical, economic and social regeneration of disadvantaged neighborhoods.

The aid that has assigned the Region of Murcia in this second call amounts to a maximum of 15 million euros

The Governing Board has approved the request for assistance established in the second call for the selection of Sustainable and Integrated Urban Development Strategies that will be co-financed through the FEDER sustainable growth 2014-2020 operational program.

For the Region of Murcia the total aid allocated for this second call will be 11,720,000 euros, to which must be added 3,999,307 euros of remaining that has remained unassigned from the first call, which makes a total of 15,719. 307 euros.

To this amount is added 20% -3 million euros - corresponding to the municipal part.

And Physical, economic and social regeneration of disadvantaged neighborhoods.

The proposal elaborated by the City Council intends to allocate this aid to the Old Prison and the neighborhoods of El Carmen and La Paz, in addition to other projects that are chosen in participatory processes.

This grant will be used for the execution of projects included in the Integrated Urban Development Strategy (DUSI), 'It Murcia: Innovation + Tradition', framed in the priority axes of the Murcia 2020 Strategy.

In this plan, the Department of Employment, Tourism and Culture, are included in various actions of social regeneration, enhancement of patrimonial resources and conservation of the natural environment.

The working document presents an updated diagnosis of the situation in which the municipality is located, identifying those needs that are considered priorities for the improvement of the well-being of the citizens, as well as the priority axes of intervention for the attainment of an adequate vision of Future of the city for the next years.

For the elaboration of this 'It Murcia' plan, a broad participatory process has been carried out, including its analysis by the City Council, especially through its sectoral working groups, as well as a citizen consultation with the realization of 1,000 Interviews.

The City of Murcia has been working for 2 years on the definition of strategies (a part of them are included in the DUSI strategy, which gathers the main challenges that the municipality must face and analyzes the whole urban area in a way Including the physical, environmental, energy, demographic and social dimensions, as well as the competency framework and the main risks that may arise during the execution of the strategy.

The document also prioritizes citizen participation, both in the diagnosis, design, implementation and follow-up of said strategy.
