Let's ask the municipal government to suspend any urban action on the palm groves of Zaraiche (17/11/2016)

Let us change Murcia has today called on the council of Urbanism, Environment and Huerta to "be consistent" and aside any intention to develop a partial plan in the environment of the palm groves of Zaraiche, in order to avoid the destruction of this orchard landscape , Linked to the palm grove and that forms part of its environmental values.

The municipal training has pointed out that the Government, while trying to recover the palm grove is taking steps for the urban development of the environment, in line with the General Urban Plan (PGOU), which would mean the loss of a high zone Environmental, landscape and cultural value.

For Cambiemos, the elaboration of a partial plan to destroy the garden environment that is left to the palm grove "is the least incoherent", and contrary to the necessary conservation of natural heritage that "should be one of the priority objectives for the City."

The need to protect this environment from urban development has been transferred by Juan Carlos Alcolea, member of the board of Santiago and Zaraiche, through a motion in which he has also asked that the area be part of the diagnosis that is being developed The UPCT on the PGOU, as well as in its future revision, "acting as a great green space for the enjoyment of the population".

Likewise, the initiative of the representative of Cambiemos Murcia requests that the work framed in the reform of the Palmeral Grande be extended to the Palmeral Chico under the same principles of valorization and ethnographic respect that have inspired the project, and for this to have the Municipal Board.
