The IX International Congress of Rare Diseases organized by D'Genes and the UCAM opens tomorrow (16/11/2016)

In the context of this event, which begins Thursday at 9:30 am in the Campus of Los Jerónimos, include the Fourth Symposium of Lipodystrophies, the First Day of Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia and the First Encounter of Families and Affected with Encontinentia Pigmenti

Tomorrow the Campus of Los Jerónimos of the Catholic University of Murcia opens the IX International Congress of Rare Diseases organized by the Association of Rare Diseases, D'Genes, under the heading 'Occupying the present, investigating for the future', which will continue Until this Sunday.

The opening ceremony will be attended by the president of the UCAM, José Luis Mendoza;

The Minister of Health, Encarna Guillén;

The general director of Professional Organization of the Ministry of Health, Carlos Jesus Moreno;

And Miguel Ángel Ruiz, director of the Association of Rare Diseases, D'Genes.

After this presentation, attendees will be able to witness throughout all the days of the conference, various testimonies of people related to different associations of rare diseases such as the Association of Relatives and Affected Lipodistrofias (AELIP) or the National Association of APERT , among other.

In the conference will participate different leaders related to the sector, which through different round tables will expose different problems and possible solutions to those affected and relatives of rare diseases.

Among the participants will be David Araujo, professor at the University of Santiago de Compostela;

César de Paz, a medical geneticist at the University of the Americas;

Jaime Salom, researcher of Physiotherapy at the Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid, or Blanca Arango González, researcher at the Institute for Ophtalmic Research at the University of Tübingen (Germany).

In addition to lectures and presentations, you can attend different workshops related to the areas of Psychology, Communication, Speech Pathology or Nursing.

These include 'Communication Skills and Techniques for Public Speaking' or 'Food Difficulties'.

The 4th Symposium on Lipodystrophies will be held in this congress, which will take place on the 19th and 20th of November at UCAM, where family and professionals will be living in the center of the city.

In addition, doctors from different points in Spain, such as the Regional Hospital of Malaga, Hospital Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca, Hospital Gregorio Marañón of Madrid, or Hospital Germans Trias i Puyol of Badalona, ​​will analyze various techniques of hyperplasia, surgical stages and needs of care Psychosocial status in the I Adverse Events of Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia.
