The Smart City Expo World Congress 2016 knows the project MiMurcia (16/11/2016)

The Councilor for Modernization of Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, José Guillén, participated today in a working breakfast with the director of Red.es of the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, Daniel Noguera, and other representatives of the selected municipalities In the second call of Digital Cities.

Attendees at the Smart City Expo World Congress 2016, the world's leading event on intelligent cities and urban solutions to be held this week in Barcelona and bringing together more than 400 speakers and 500 cities around the world, have been able to learn about the project 'Mi Murcia', beneficiary of the 'II Call for Intelligent Cities' of the Digital Agenda for Spain.

Guillén explained that "this initiative seeks to generate new opportunities for economic development, while improving the quality of life of Murcia and the public services they receive."

The councilman has also attended the Board and Extraordinary Assembly of the Spanish Network of Intelligent Cities (RECI) of which Murcia is vocal.

"As an active municipality in sustainability policies and commitment to smart cities, belonging to RECI is a great platform to share and develop Smartcities experiences among the members of the Network," said Guillén.

The Spanish Network of Intelligent Cities was established in June 2012 with the aim of exchanging experiences and working together to develop a sustainable management model and improve the quality of life of citizens, focusing on aspects such as energy saving, sustainable mobility, EAdministration, attention to people or security.

It currently comprises 60 cities: A Coruña, Albacete, Alcalá de Henares, Alcobendas, Alcorcón, Alicante, Almeria, Alzira, Aranjuez, Arganda del Rey, Avila, Badajoz, Barcelona, ​​Burgos, Cáceres, Castellón, Ciudad Real, Córdoba, Guadalajara , Elche, Fuengirola, Getafe, Gijón, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Huelva, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Logroño, Lugo, Huesca, Madrid, Majadahonda, Malaga, Marbella, Mérida, Molina de Segura, Móstoles, Motril, Murcia, Oviedo , Palencia, Palma de Mallorca, Pamplona, ​​Paterna, Ponferrada, Pozuelo de Alarcón, Rivas Vaciamadrid, Sabadell, Salamanca, Sant Cugat, Santander, Santiago de Compostela, Segovia, Seville, Tarragona, Torrejón de Ardoz, Torrent, Valencia, Valladolid, Vitoria -Gasteiz and Zaragoza.
