The PSOE asks the delegate of Government a visit to the CIE of Sangonera (15/11/2016)

The socialist councilors, Susana Hernández and Juan Vicente Larrosa, asked Tuesday to visit the foreign internment center (CIE) of Sangonera to check the social and security conditions of the center.

In view of the various prisoners' escapees that have taken place in a very short time of the CIE of Sangonera and after the numerous manifestations of concern of the citizens of the zone and of diverse social groups, the councilors of the Municipal Socialist Group have asked to the delegate of the Government a Urgent visit to this place of internment of foreigners to verify in situ if the measures of security, dignity and sanity are met.

The socialist councilor, Juan Vicente Larrosa, has indicated, after echoing the allegations of the Unified Police Union (SUP), that "the CIE of Sangonera does not seem to have the minimum conditions that guarantee the security of the inmates, nor of the Agents who work there, not even the population of Sangonera who lives each escape with bewilderment and uncertainty.

And he added that "our concern for this issue corresponds to the fact that the CIE is in the municipality of Murcia and affects and interests the neighbors and neighbors who live nearby."

The Socialist mayor, Susana Hernández, has denounced that "we have news that the inmates do not have the right conditions of dignity and health, they are in a prison situation when they have not committed a crime and, for these reasons , We have asked the delegate of the Government for an urgent visit by the Socialist Municipal Group to the CIE of Sangonera. "

According to Hernández, in the July 2015 plenary session, the Municipal Socialist Group urged the City Council's government team to request a visit to this CIE "in order to know at first hand the terrible situation in which the inmates were."

"After more than a year of waiting, given the passivity of Ballesta and his team, and given the social alarm that the repeated leaks has produced, from the municipal PSOE we demand to be able to visit the facilities while it does not finish closing this center as requested by the PSOE on several occasions "added the Socialist mayor.

Also, in that plenary, the mayor Susana Hernandez demanded to the City council to urge the Government of the nation to adopt measures that guarantee the non-penitentiary character of the centers of internment of foreigners;

The recognition of all the rights that correspond to the hospitalized persons, as well as the adequacy of the facilities to the functions legally foreseen.
