The Department of Development, directed by Roque Ortiz, will improve lighting throughout the neighborhood of Don Juan Manuel.

What is intended with this action is to provide all streets in the area with new lighting that improves visibility, save electricity and contaminate less.

The neighborhood Infante don Juan Manuel has the same lighting elements installed during the original urbanization, in the late 60's. The installation is in a suitable state of conservation, where only 13 gates (over a total of more than 250 Points) are deteriorated and must be renewed.

However, the performance of the installation is very low due to the aging of the lighting elements, which, together with the high energy consumption, advise the renovation of the luminaires.

Thus, new LED technology lighting will be installed with which a reduction of the installed power between 60% and 70% is obtained.

At Avenida Infante don Juan Manuel will be renewed 27 points of light, both the column, as the luminaire and the basements, maintaining the pipeline and existing power lines.

The column that is installed is the same as those installed in the Coastal, white with blue arms.

LED luminaires have a light output greater than 11,000 lumens with an energy consumption of around 100 W.

In the main avenues, San Juan de la Cruz, Pío Baroja, Vicente Aleixandre and Santa Joaquina de Vedruna, will be installed 82 new luminaires with a yield of more than 14,000 lumens and an approximate power of 120 W.

In the rest of the vials (Gabriel Miró, Monte Carmelo Avenue, Luis Fernandez, Miguel Hernandez, Antonio González Conte, Alberto Sevilla, Lope de Vega, Jorge Manrique, Rubén Darío, Miguel Fernández, Ramón del Valle Inclán, Poet Andrés Bolarín, Mozart, Lope de Rueda, Juan Ramón Jiménez, Luis de Góngora and Carmen Conde) will install the same luminary of the Avenida Infante don Juan Manuel, of 11,000 lumens and 100 W, in a total of 169 units

Likewise, 8 control centers will be renovated to provide them with remote management so that, from the control point in the Abenarabi Services Building, it is possible to monitor the operating hours, the light intensity and the incidences produced in the installation of Street lighting.

Global features of new lighting

The current total power is 107 kW while after the renewal will be 34 kW

The current annual consumption is 382,000 kwh which will be reduced to 80,000 kwh after this performance.

The expected savings, therefore, amounts to 79.11%

This work will reduce CO2 emissions by 150 tonnes.

In this action, which is currently in tender, the Department of Development will invest a maximum of 344,000 euros.

The execution time is 6 months.
